What does it mean to be an apprentice?
This apprenticeship position is a deep dive into the field of study abroad/international education. After a training period, apprentices work with teams across the organization to gain a breadth of experience and knowledge. These teams include, but are not limited to The Institutional Engagement (IE) team; The Council on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion; Health, Safety, and Security; Program Advising; Academic Advising; and other committee work. Apprentices gain hands-on experience on most of the current projects Arcadia Abroad is working on, and have the ability to contribute their perspective on student-facing materials.
Who are apprentices?
Apprentices are college graduates who have an interest in a career in international education and enthusiasm to help current college students study abroad. Apprentices are willing to travel for work, have a passion for sharing their personal stories of studying abroad with different audiences, are interested in learning new skills, and are excited about building a remote community with colleagues in the US and around the world.
When does the program run?
The program runs for about 8 months from mid-summer to early spring. This time frame allows for the apprentices to experience an entire university enrollment cycle, providing knowledge of the field, experience with a number of different types of partner institutions, and a network of colleagues.
Where do apprentices work?
Apprentices work remotely from a US-based home office, during recruitment season their work will take them to Arcadia Partner Colleges and Universities across the US.
