The College of Global Studies is excited to announce the creation of the Arcadia Alumni Ambassador Program. This initiative is designed to give students who are considering study abroad, a way to communicate with other students who have already completed a study abroad program with Arcadia. It also offers alumni professional development opportunities, training and a chance to share their experiences the benefits of study abroad.
The new ambassadors have been carefully selected and trained to act as a valuable resource for any peer who is interested in studying abroad. They are asked to attend any training at their home institutions and to work alongside their advisors. They are also encouraged to assist at major events on campus, such as study abroad fairs, and to host smaller events, such as informational tables, coffee hour advising sessions, or informational presentations on campus.
As ambassadors, newly returned students share their life-changing stories in a professional - and yet also personal - capacity. They have the chance to refine not just their storytelling, but also marketing, event-planning, and mentoring skills. The College of Global Studies staff work alongside them at on-campus events and provide tailored mentorship sessions. This work helps them to articulate the benefits of their study abroad experience, which in turn will help them stand out in graduate school or employment interviews.
Each ambassador has a presence on our Alumni Ambassador Directory, where the home institution, program abroad, and topics of interest are listed, along with specific contact information. Any interested student can reach out to an ambassador of choice online.
