We are proud of all of our alumni and Liz Fishbach is no exception! Here she tells us a little about her most recent project, a platform raising awareness for mental health.

I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in beautiful Athens, Greece with Arcadia in Spring 2009.

Although I went in with eagerness and excitement, I had no idea just how transformative the experience would be. Spending five months integrating into a new culture and surrounded by the natural beauty and allure that is Greece completely changed the way I viewed the world.

To this day, I remain so incredibly thankful for the experience that the country provided me. I'm forever grateful for the lessons learned, confidence gained, life long friendships made and the realization that life truly does begin outside of your comfort zone.

My time abroad showed me that life has endless opportunities in store if you approach each experience with an open mind and heart.

After returning to the states and navigating the pressures of adulthood the past seven years, I've developed a new found passion for mental health awareness. It's a deeply personal cause for me and the motivation for my recently created community, And She Fights. And She Fights is a movement for women dealing with mental health issues. It's intended as a space where real women can come together as we battle real issues involving mental health - a crisis that is not openly and truthfully discussed nearly enough in current society.

If there's any one thing that my time with Arcadia in Greece taught me it is that our generation truly does have the ability to change the world - And She Fights is my attempt at doing just that.
