The College of Global Studies is pleased to announce the formation of The Guild. A dialogue-rich membership group of around 45 education abroad professionals from throughout the US, The Guild is intended to be a venue for discussion about issues, opportunities, and challenges that members face in their offices and roles on a regular basis. The first Guild Meeting in Philadelphia will be in mid-June, 2015 with topics to be discussed to include quality in education abroad programming, STEM programming abroad, and the application process.
According to John Wells, Director of Enrollment Management, “The Guild is intended to fill an important role for discussing issues within a smaller group which allows for a different level of conversation. Education Abroad conferences with hundreds to thousands of people in attendance don’t permit the same level of discourse.” While the Guild is an invitation member only group, Mr. Wells thinks that many discussions which begin in The Guild will move on to webinars and occasional papers which The College can discuss more broadly in the field.
