Amy Besser, a Junior at Arcadia University, has been named to the Dean’s List. Amy spent the previous fall studying abroad at the Queensland University of Technology, in Brisbane, Australia, where she earned an overall grade-point average of 3.95.

She was the first student selected to be a part of our Student Blogger initiative, which has grown to include fifteen students in eight countries over the course of the past two semesters. You can read about Amy's experiences studying abroad in her blog(!!!!) from last semester.

In addition to making the Dean’s List, Amy has achieved academic excellence in that she is in the top 7.5 percentile of her class, and as such is eligible to be inducted into the Phi Kappa Phil honor society for outstanding scholastic achievement. She has already been inducted into the Phi Beta Delta honor society for International Scholars.

When we reached out to Amy for a comment, she stated: "Maintaining a high academic standard was more difficult in Australia, because of all the distractions that a new place can afford. However, my courses at QUT offered a fresh perspective towards my major and made me excited to go to class. Keeping a good balance of work and play by setting aside time specifically for coursework was crucial for my academic success."

The College would like to extend warm congratulations to Amy for her outstanding achievements and the best of luck for the future.
