The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Paola Cascinelli to the role of Resident Director of our Italy Programs.

Paola has been Interim Director since October 2018 and since 2015, the Assistant Director of Experiential Education. She is therefore uniquely experienced in what it takes to manage our Rome Center. In addition to her teaching the Management and International Business course for Arcadia in Rome, Paola directly manages the academic curriculum, the internship opportunities, and the custom-program design and implementation, encouraging experiential learning at every turn.

“I am delighted to welcome Paola into this new and challenging role as we build out our strong academic programming and integrated experiential learning to highlight the wonders of Rome as well as the lesser-known corners of Italy, the Mediterranean and Europe. We look forward to seeing the programs and students in Italy thrive under Paola’s deliberative and enthusiastic leadership,” says Dr. Jan Sanders, Regional Director, Mediterranean Programs at Arcadia University.

Paola is an economic sociologist with a Ph.D. in Economic and Statistical Studies from the Università La Sapienza of Rome. By special request, Paola previously held the role of Special Advisor to the Office of the Minister of Economic Development and Productivity for the Region of Lazio for 18 months. As a result, she is held in high regard by local and regional entities, including the Università degli Studi Roma Tre, where our Rome program resides. During the course of her studies, Paola held several research positions in Spain, Belgium and the U.S. in the fields of Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Team Building, a broad background which will significantly benefit Arcadia Abroad and our students studying in Italy.
