The College of Global Studies is pleased to announce that Marielle Lynch (Ohio State University 19’) is the winner of the 2018 Global Scholar Award. Marielle studied abroad with us at the University of Sydney during the fall 2018 semester.

In nominating her for this award, Katrina O’Neill, coordinator of student services, Arcadia in Australia, noted that Marielle totally immersed herself in the study abroad experience and attended most of the Arcadia events, in addition to University and accommodation events.

The award is presented every year to an individual whose contributions to the institution serve as benchmarks of the highest level of teaching and learning within the institution.

Wendy Lombardo, Associate Director, Institutional Relations, visited Ohio State on April 17 to personally present the award, share comments from the nominators and honor Marielle for her outstanding accomplishments and engagement while in Australia.

In addition to the $250 sum the award carries, Marielle also received a beautifully engraved plaque to commemorate her study abroad achievements with The College.
