The College of Global Studies is pleased to announce that Natalie Nemeth (University of San Francisco '18) is the winner of the 2017 Global Scholar Award. Natalie studied abroad with us on the Arcadia in Barcelona program during the Spring 2017 semester.

In nominating her for this honor, Dr. Jaume Gelabert noted her ability to maximize her study abroad experience by gaining a strong understanding of the Spanish language and its idioms, exhibiting a strong curiosity for Spain and its different regions, and participating in all Barcelona Center activities.

The award is presented every year to an individual whose contributions to the institution serve as benchmarks of the highest level of teaching and learning within the institution.

Bridget Donoghue Vornholt, Associate Director at The College, traveled to USF to present Natalie with this prestigious honor. In addition to the $250 sum the award carries, Natalie also received a beautifully engraved plaque to commemorate her study abroad achievements with The College. She was very moved by Jaume's kind words about her, and has already put the award money toward traveling back to Spain for a gap year before moving onto graduate school.
