The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University announces the launch of a new Summer Program: Girton College at the University of Cambridge. This focused opportunity offers either Economics or Engineering sessions over four weeks. Recruitment for Summer 2019 has begun for both sessions.
The Economics session is late June to late July, with course topics including macroeconomics, microeconomics and economic & political thought, through studies of Nobel Prize Winners in economics, development of world capitalist structures and philosophical analysis of democratic capitalism.
The Engineering session is from mid-July to mid-August, covering topics such as nanotechnology, quantum technologies, renewable electrical power and the jet engine.
“This program offers a wonderful opportunity for students to study key subjects in a world-class institution over the summer months. It’s both academically accessible and financially more affordable than most summer options in these areas,” says Dr. Andrew Law, Dean, The College of Global Studies, Arcadia University.
The program requires only a 3.0 GPA and offers on-campus housing at the beautiful Girton College. All the character and traditions of a Cambridge education come through on this program, to give students that unique experience associated with 800 years of heritage. Weekly evening lectures, formal dinners in medieval halls by candlelight and events organized by both Arcadia and full-time Cambridge students are offered.
