Arcadia University is pleased to announce the Arcadia Dublin Internship program. This new semester opportunity combines opportunities to work in one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals with coursework and a research project. Students are encouraged to explore and consider the relationship between their academic interests with their career and vocational aspirations. Further, student will have the opportunity to consider attitudes and approaches to work in an Irish context.

Students will choose from a wide range of placements, from small, local businesses to larger financial services organizations and both the public and non-profit sectors. Placements are designed to offer students with substantive opportunities based on their skills, aptitudes and interests and to develop networks and contacts that will continue to resonate long after they return home.

In addition to the internship course and research project, students may enroll in one course at the Dublin Business School (DBS), Ireland’s largest independent third level institution. Depending on their elective choices, students will earn 14.5 – 16 credits during this semester program. The GPA requirement is 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

This unique program also offers structured opportunities to discuss and contextualize the placement in both classroom and online settings. This is designed to stimulate learning and enable students to connect the placement experience with their academic interests and their career goals.
As an Arcadia Center based Program, the Dublin Internship includes all the practical support and co-curricular focus that characterize Arcadia programs – from health and safety support, orientation, housing to on-going co-curricular events and activities. Students will be encouraged to take their learning well beyond the classroom and workplace and to foster personally important links between their context in Ireland and their own potential to live, work and contribute in ways they may not have previously considered.

The deadline for applications for Spring 2015 is October 1.
