Student Blogs About Refugees for Huffington Post

A Northwestern University student on the Arcadia in Greece program, Jackie Montalvo, recently contributed to the Huffington Post’s Politics blog with a very well written post about her experiences with the refugee crisis in Greece. 

In her article, titled The Truth About Refugees From a U.S. Student Abroad, she draws upon her experiences as a student living in a country that is so affected by the crisis. She writes: "When you are confronted with real people, forced to see their faces, it changes the whole story."

Her perspective of the crisis is also shaped by the fact that she has worked on this specific issue with Non-Governmental Organizations in Turkey and Greece and as someone who is herself the product of immigrants to the United States.
