Bates College student Michael Lee, became the second alum of the Arcadia in Sicily Program to be published in Arcadia University’s online scholarly journal, The Compass.
Michael’s research was on Greek sculptures in Sicily during the Archaic period (5th-6th Century BC). His paper is titled “In Search of the Mother Goddess: Native Sculptures of Archaic Sicily,” and it is available on The Compass’ web page. Michael spent much of his time abroad working with Dr. Davide Tanasi, a professor at the former Arcadia Sicily Center, who has received numerous accolades for his work as a professor and researcher.
The Compass is edited and produced by students in the Arcadia University Honors Program, and it is dedicated to providing a platform for undergraduate research and insight so that it may inspire, intrigue, and inform an audience. It features multidisciplinary perspectives with the aim of cultivating a scholarly community that promotes the circulation of research and ideas.
