The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University extends a hearty congratulations to four students who have been offered Gilman Scholarships to study with us during the summer term of 2015. The Recipients include: Abigail Garcia, University of Texas Austin; Brandon Smith, Franklin & Marshall College; Hassan Abdinur, University of Minnesota Twin Cities; Taylor Carlberg, University of Nebraska.

Both Abigail and Brandon will be on custom programs arranged by their home institutions. Abigail will be studying Nutrition in Italy while Brandon will be studying Human Rights in South Africa. Additionally, Hassan will be participating in the Environmental Studies: Ethics, Culture and Sustainability program in Australia and New Zealand, while Taylor will be heading off to the Renewable Energy Policy and Development program in Germany.

The Gilman Scholarship Program, named for Benjamin A. Gilman, seeks to provide financial opportunities to students who might otherwise be unable to participate for monetary concerns. The program’s goal is to diversify the kinds of students who study and the countries/regions they study in.
