The Arcadia Dublin News blog has reported that, in conjunction with Arcadia’s new co-curricular activities in Ireland, students recently made pilgrimage to Ireland’s holy mountain, Coagh Patrick. The excursion is one of several that seek to engage students with the local culture beyond the classroom under the “Spiritual Ireland” theme.
"Arcadia students have ambition, passion, and dedication," writes Tom Kelley, Resident Director of Arcadia in Ireland. "We noticed this from the first meetings with them during orientation back in January. Students attending NUI Galway had an opportunity to demonstrate their youthful energy and curiosity in joining me on one of Ireland’s quintessential adventures: the Croagh Patrick Pilgrimage."
Croagh Patrick is best known for its association with Saint Patrick, and has been a pilgrimage destination since pre-Christian times and attracts pilgrims of all faiths and backgrounds.
Tom Kelley's full remarks about the trip can be found on the Arcadia Dublin News blog.
