As a Spartan Abroad Global Ambassador, Hannah Lufkin discusses her experience abroad in an interview with her home institution, Michigan State University. Hannah studied with Arcadia on the STEM Summer Research Program in Dublin, Ireland. In the interview, she talks about what sparked her interest in the program, as well the process of preparing to go abroad.
“I really wanted to study abroad before I came to Michigan State. I really wanted to travel, and experience living in another country in for a little while. I always wanted to go to Europe, so I really wanted to back to Ireland since I’ve visited before.”
Hannah discussed some of her experiences in the STEM research program such as her research project and adapting to campus living at the University College Dublin. Towards the end of the interview, she also provides advice to students who are interested in studying abroad.
“Definitely to be flexible.” said Lufkin.“I didn’t have too many problems, but definitely going beforehand and getting everything worked out especially with your advisors, plane tickets, and financial stuff. Also while you’re there, you have to make it your time.”
