If you’ve been keeping a keen eye on the staff listed on the homepage of your Arcadia Passport Advisor Portal, you may have noticed that we’ve made some changes to our Student Services Team and the Program Managers who are working with our various overseas programs.
Students work with a specific Program Manager based on two factors: 1) the program they have applied to and 2) the US institution they are currently attending. This allows us to advise students on the ins-and-outs of their upcoming time abroad while also helping to reinforce processes, policies and personnel at their home school. We value our partnerships with you and your colleagues, and want to do our best to support the good work you are doing on your campuses; this focus on both sides of the student experience - where they are coming from and where they are going - is a key part of those partnerships.
We are well aware that student success overseas is largely dependent on a number of things that happen months before they step on board a plane. The advising that they receive from staff and faculty at their home institutions to ensure they are making the right choice is paramount. In addition, the support that Program Managers at The College of Global Studies are able to provide through the admissions process, course and housing selection, health-related preparations, immigration and visa applications, logistical and practical planning, etc., can have a major impact on a student’s ability to hit the ground running.
Our Program Manager staff work hard to make sure that each student is supported throughout the admissions and pre-departure stages of their study abroad experience. As the needs, expectations and goals of our students change, we adapt our work to meet them where they are. Over the last year or so, Program Managers have focused on a range of projects to improve our work. Some of these include:
As programs rise and fall in popularity, as students from your institution shift interest from one location to another, and as we create and grow our partnerships, we regularly review the Program Manager portfolios and look for opportunities to make changes that will improve the quality of our advising and support to your students.
If you are in doubt about who is working with which programs, you can always refer to your Passport Advisor Portal for specifics - or simply get in touch with us, and we’ll make sure to point you in the right direction.
On behalf of the full Student Services Team, we look forward to continuing to work with you.
