As expected, the recent improvement of relations between the United States and Cuba has sparked a renewed interest in the island nation among Americans, and vice versa among Cubans. Recently, The Atlantic explored this topic, specifically in the context of studying abroad.
In 2011, when the Obama Administration relaxed travel restrictions for those whose trips met certain academic criteria, Americans have seen their opportunities to study in Cuba greatly expand. This policy amendment facilitated The College of Global Studies to launch the Arcadia in Cuba semester and programs.
The Atlantic highlights Cuba study abroad programs operating in the U.S., via the Institute for International Education. Among these providers, Arcadia leads the field in annual student enrollment to Cuban study abroad programs.
