This is Arcadia's weekly roundup of highlights from student blogs abroad.
The recurring theme for the student bloggers for the second week of February has been exploration, whether it be attractions like Madame Tussaud's and St. Alban's Cathedral, or the cities of Auckland, Bristol, Glasgow and Perth. Read about these students' experiences at these places in their own words!
"What better way is there than to spend your weekend with celebrities? From Prince Harry, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the Beckhams I got to spend my weekend with the best of the best. Madame Tussaud's here in London is one of the top tourist attractions. Located on Baker Street, home to Sherlock Holmes and one of the University of Westminster’s buildings, Madame Tussaud's is in a prime location for anyone looking to have a great day out."
"It's 7am, and the sun is just rising over Auckland. Nearly horizontal beams strike sharp, long shadows on the airport road and make golden halos around people's heads, who walk briskly with suitcases, greeting loved ones, waiting for a shuttle. I'm waiting for the Airbus that will take me through the monkey puzzle trees to downtown Auckland and my hostel for the night, Nomads Fat Camel. I’m in Auckland a day early for Arcadia’s orientation, so I’m planning on exploring Auckland on my own for a day before the adventure begins."
"I’ve been looking for an excuse to find my way to Bristol since I jumped the pond to England. This unique city is known for it’s street art but if you ask my mom it’s known as the birthplace of America’s discoverer John Cabot in 1487. But that’s history, lets live in the present and presently it’s coated in amazing art from world famous artists such as Banksy, Stik and many others alike."
"Being in London can sometimes make your forget that the country of England stretches far beyond the city’s limits. Sure the city is fun and glamorous but after a while you just need to take a little break from crowded sidewalks and honking horns and super inflated prices. Lucky for me, England had a lot of beautiful places to escape to."

"So a lot has happened since my last post. I took a day trip to Glasgow, and found an American candy store there, that was selling a 12 pack of A&W Root Beer for 16 pounds, I’ve actually had to do schoolwork (I knew this day would eventually come), and I visited Perth."
