When you chose to study abroad with Arcadia Abroad, you made the conscious decision that quality education, both inside and outside the classroom was critically important to you. Ambassadors are students just like you who want to share those values and that experience with others.
There are several ways you can share your experience and help your fellow students understand the benefits of studying abroad through Arcadia Abroad.
Individual Student Support
Many students considering study abroad want to speak with someone who recently completed a study abroad program. I'm sure you remember all of the questions you had early on in the process: "How will this experience be meaningful to me?" "Will I meet local students or be able to get involved in the community?" "Is this program going to give me a strong academic experience?" As an Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to speak directly with prospective students about several different general, academic, and social topics such as:
Country and/or program |
The application process |
Academics |
Housing accommodations |
LBGTQIA+ |
Race, ethnicity & identity |
First time abroad |
Finances |
Men's / Women's topics abroad |
Religion |
Athletics |
Events and activities |
Health & wellness abroad |
Daily life |
Making friends |
Community involvement |
As students ask to speak with an Ambassador, they will be directed to the Alumni Ambassador list on our website. Students all over the U.S. will have questions about the country or program they're interested in or have questions that match the subject areas you've indicated in your application. Once contacted you will have the ability to mentor them via phone, email, text, social media... whichever way works best for you.
Other Support
Aside from individual support, there are lots of ways you can connect with students and help promote your Arcadia Abroad program.
Tell your story
I'm sure you remember reading program reviews as you were making your choice. They gave you insight and perspective as you considered your options. Let your story be among those students are reading as they weigh their options by posting a review online. Not only will your review help others, it will help you reflect on your time abroad and serve as a writing sample when entering the job market or applying for graduate school.
