For students joining us in the Spring, we are very excited to announce our events that will be on offer to you!

We’ve been working hard to select some of the best experiences that we think will be a great introduction to your new home in the UK, from action-packed adventure weekends to theatre trips and city breaks!

Read on below for what we have in store. Event registration opens Tuesday, December 4th at 12 noon (EST) in your Arcadia Passport. Our events are first come, first served so don't wait too long to register! And, don’t forget, if an event is full you can add yourself to the waitlist to be notified automatically if more space becomes available.

Studying outside of London?

Arcadia provides you with a £75 bursary towards your participation in Arcadia events, which you can use towards travel and/or accommodation to attend an Arcadia excursion. Please provide an Arcadia staff member with your receipts before the end of your program to be reimbursed via cash.

 

Windsor castle day trip

Life & Death, Tradition & Innovation, Tribes

This Spring we will visit Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world! It was originally built to protect London, but now it is Queen Elizabeth’s weekend home and is often used for royal functions. The most recent notable royal function being the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry! Join us on this visit to marvel at the architecture, and to explore the royal history within. Price includes: Return train journey from London, entry to Windsor Castle.

 

Theatre event - true west

life & Death, Sensory, pop Culture

Enjoy a night of culture, while also seeing the famous Game of Thrones actor Kit Harrington on the West End stage. Set in the searing heat of the Californian desert this critically acclaimed drama, written by Sam Shepard,  pits brother against brother as a family tears itself apart, exposing the cracks in the American Dream. oxford day trip

Oxford will surprise, inspire and enchant you with its magnificent architecture, impressive yet intimate colleges, romantic rivers, and hidden nooks and crannies. The whole place has a buzz and a vibrant atmosphere (also the location for several scenes in Harry Potter). Price includes: Round trip coach/bus from London, guided walking tour and entry to Trinity College.

 

athens weekend trip*

This exciting weekend trip to Athens brings together Ancient and modern Greece, music and traditional flavours as we navigate this colourful capital. You will have the chance to fully immerse yourself in Greek culture with a dance class and cooking class. Please note this excursion departs early on a Friday morning in order to maximise your time in Athens. It is your responsibility to check for any academic clashes. Price includes: Round trip flights, transport to London airport (outbound journey only), airport transfer in Athens, 2 night hostel stay with breakfast included, one group meal, traditional dance class, cooking class, Acropolis tour, cultural walking tour.

*this trip will be open to students taking classes at a british university first, as there are minimal academic conflicts for those without a reading week.

 

athens long weekend trip*

This exciting long weekend trip to Athens brings together Ancient and modern Greece, music and traditional flavours as we navigate this colourful capital. You will have the chance to fully immerse yourself in Greek culture with a dance class and cooking class. The extended version of this trip also includes a day excursion to the nearby Greek island Aegina, which is famous for its fish markets, historical sites and pistachios! Please note this excursion departs early on a Friday morning in order to maximise your time in Athens. This excursion aligns with the London Center’s reading week and will return late on Tuesday evening. It is your responsibility to check for any academic clashes. Price includes: Round trip flights, transport to London airport (outbound journey only), airport transfer in Athens, 4 night hostel stay with breakfast included, one group meal, traditional dance class, cooking class, Acropolis tour, cultural walking tour, day trip excursion to Greek island Aegina.

wales adventure weekend

This adventure weekend is full of outdoor and water activities such as coasteering, kayaking and surfing! You will also have the chance to visit the town of St. Davids or Pembroke Castle. Please note this event departs on a Friday afternoon, it is your responsibility to check for academic clashes. Price includes: Round trip travel by train from London, two nights accommodation, all meals and all activities.

 

Churchill War Rooms: Morning & Afternoon Sessions

This museum comprises the Cabinet War Rooms, a historic underground complex that was home to government command centre during the Second World War. You can also see the Churchill Museum, a museum exploring the life of the then Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This event will also include students from the Arcadia Ireland and Scotland programs. Price includes: Entry to the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms

 

stonehenge & Bath day trip

life & death, sensory, tribes 

On this day trip, our first stop will be Stonehenge (a World Heritage Site), followed by an afternoon in Bath, a beautiful and historic city dating back to the Roman times later made famous by resident Jane Austen. You will also get to visit the Roman Baths with time to shop and explore the town center beforehand. This event will also include students from the Arcadia Ireland and Scotland programs. Price includes: Round trip travel by coach from London, entrance to Stonehenge and the Roman Baths.

 

westminster abbey tour

Join us for a guided tour of one of London’s most iconic landmarks. Westminster Abbey is a UNESCO world heritage site, and has witnessed the coronations of every monarch since William the Conqueror in 1066. It is also where Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot! Please note this event occurs on a Friday afternoon. It is your responsibility to check for any academic clashes. Price includes: Entry to Westminster Abbey, guided tour of the Abbey and surrounding area.
