Let Arcadia staff guide you to what's cool and current with our own clubs, intended to introduce you to different aspects of British culture and London life.

Here's what you can get involved in:

  1. Free London
Studying abroad can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be! Each week we provide you with our top tips for free and inexpensive things to do, see and eat in London.
  2. Green Club
If you are in London, you may find yourself yearning for trees, leaves, and birds but did you know that half of London is green space? (We were suprised too!) Each week the Green Club will introduce you to hidden and not so hidden green spaces of the city.
  3. Pub Club
For centuries the public house has been at the centre of British culture as an important cultural hub. No wonder then that so many events of historical and cultural interest have taken place huddled over a pint or two. Join Dr. Morgan Daniels as we examine this place where British culture and history come together as we visit a handpicked list of public houses where books have been written and revolutionised.
  4. Creative Writing
Our Assistant Academic Officer, Natalie Crown, is a published author, having released her first book, The Wolf's Cry, in 2014. While she continues work on the follow-ups, she is looking forward to talking all things books with you!

This is not an academic workshop. It is intended as some fun for all book-lovers out there. Whether you are already a writer, or if you simply fancy trying it out, this group is for you. The idea is that there are no constraints to your imagination. This group will meet weekly. And of course, all members can take away a free copy of The Wolf's Cryif they so wish.

There is a competition element to this club, too. You will be encouraged to submit a piece of original creative writing by the end of the semester. The winner will receive two books of their choice worth up to £20.
  5. Chess Club
Challenge Phil to a game of chess each Tuesday in the Arcadia Centre.

If any of these clubs suit your fancy, keep your eye on the Summer Facebook Group for more information!
