Yes, it's that time. Somehow, the semester has flown by and we have arrived at our final Talk of the Town! event. If you have not come along for one of these events yet, make sure you sign up quickly. No doubt it will be as popular as all the rest.
For our final Talk of the Town! Dr Laurence Scott will be in conversation with Alix Christie.
Alix Christie is an American writer and journalist. Her debut novel, Gutenberg's Apprentice, was published in September, 2014, and dramatises the life of the famous inventor who forever changed our ways of communication. Can you imagine a world where the printing press had never been invented? No? Then why not learn more about the inventor that brought the concept of the printed word into the world.
The Sunday Times described the book as ‘A sophisticated, moving story of the creation of the Gutenberg Bible’, while the Washington Post declared it ‘a worthy tribute to the technological revolution it re-imagines’. Join Alix to discuss this work and her writing career.
As always, please head over to the Fall Facebook group for more information regarding this event. And make sure to email Dr Laurence Scott at scottl@arcadia.edu to secure your spot. Spaces are limited, and signing up to the event on the Facebook group does not secure a place.
