It's true. You can live in London for years and still not scratch the surface with all it has to offer. This is why we've compiled some of the best things to do during your time here. So whether you're trying to conquer London on a tight budget, or you're looking for the city's quirkier side, this list will hopefully help you get started on your exploration over the next few months!

 

Free London

  1. Admire London's skyline from Sky Garden.
  2. Discover what a museum is like after-hours with Science Museum Lates.  
  3. Feed your inner foodie at Borough Market and go wild on the free samples!
  4. Walk among the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum
  5. If you're an art lover, visit the Saatchi Gallery for unique contemporary art.

Must-See London

  1. Climb the dome at St Paul's Cathedral. Those who brave the 528 steps to the top will be rewarded with incredible panoramic views.
  2. Attend a match at Wembley Stadium.
  3. Take a street-art tour and learn about the East End's dynamic history and culture.
  4. See a show in the West End.
  5. Get lost in the maze of stalls, shops and restaurants at Camden Market.

Outdoor London

  1. Stop and smell the flowers at the Columbia Road Flower Market.
  2. Take the Emirates Air Line at sunset. 
  3. Wander through Highgate Cemetery, best known for having the tombstones of Charles Dickens and Karl Marx.
  4. Visit London's world famous botanical garden at Kew Gardens.

  1. Watch a film under the stars at an outdoor cinema.
  2. Have a purrfect afternoon tea at a cat cafe.
  3. Meet some loveable creatures at Spitalfields City Farm.
  4. Stroll down Brick Lane and find out whether beigels are better than bagels.
  5. Climb aboard a floating bookshop along the Regent's Canal.
