Hi everyone! I'm Nicole, and I’m a junior from Stonehill College with a major in communication and a minor in digital media production, and I am currently studying abroad at the University of Stirling in Stirling, Scotland. My family has always loved traveling and exploring, and I grew up wondering where we would go on our next adventure. Five years ago, my older sister had the chance to study abroad while she was in college, and I thought it would be a cool experience, but I wasn’t sure I’d get the chance after the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020. However, when I learned that Stonehill was offering the study abroad program for the Fall 2022 semester, I decided to take a chance and see if I could go, and fortunately, I was given the green light to go overseas. I admit I was anxious while preparing everything for my arrival and during the last few days before my flight to Scotland, but in the end, I’m so glad I decided to go for it! On my blog, you’ll read about my adventures, the good, the bad, and the exciting, some tips on how to plan solo trips overseas, how to keep moving forward despite setbacks, moments of insecurity and accomplishment, and how to stay on top of your studies in a foreign environment. My study abroad experience has been a lot of fun, and I hope you’ll take a chance on my blog and check out my experiences before studying abroad.
