Waterloo: After the Battle: Through 30 June, National Museum of Scotland
Learn about the impact of the Battle of Waterloo in it's bicentennial year.

Garry Fabian Miller: Dwelling: Throughout June, Dovecot Studios
Rugs and other work created as part of a collaboration between Dovecot Studios and the photographic artist.
ARTIST ROOMS: Roy Lichtenstein: Throughout June, Scottish National Gallery of MOdern Art One
A three-room display of the work of Roy Lichtenstein (1923–1997), the man who made Ben-Day dots into his signature style. This display brings together for the first time works by the wittiest of the pop artists.
Edinburgh International Film Festival: 17-28 June, Various venues and times
The oldest continually running film festival in the world, the EIFF draws on its prestige to consistently present abundant programmes of new features, documentaries, retrospectives, shorts, panel discussions and educational workshops, with a few high profile premieres thrown in for good measure. This year features a retrospective focusing on American TV movies from the 1960s and 70s, and screenings of the works of director Walter Hill and animator Barry Purves. There is also a focus on films from Mexico.

Writer, humorist and wit, brimming with sardonic social observations.
The Forth Bridge: Building an Icon: Through 21 June, National Library of Scotland
A display commemorating the 125th anniversary of the Forth Bridge opening, with photographs, plans, reports and more.
Gold: Throughout June, The Queen's Gallery
Why is gold so scarce? Because it's so heavy: most of the planet's gold sank to the core millions of years ago, with the stuff near the surface coming chiefly from meteorites. This look at the metal's amazing beauty, versatility and symbolism uses objects drawn from the Royal Collection, such as the Rillaton Cup, a Bronze Age funerary object; a gold crown from Ecuador and an 18th century tiger-head made of gold and rock crystal from India.

The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra is the country's foremost large ensemble for traditional music.
Best of Scottish Comedy: 24 June, The Stand, 8.30pm
A showcase of the finest comedy talent from north of the border, flying the flag of Scottish talent without looking like a hooligan.

Fifty stalls set up in Waverley by Local Motive Markets, offering ethical and local products from fresh produce to crafts.
Edinburgh Zoo Nights: 5, 19 and 26 June, Edinburgh Zoo, 6-10pm
There is no one among us who hasn't wanted to visit the zoo after hours. Just what do all those critters do after dark, anyway? Now's there's a way to find out! The zoo opens its gates for a series of adults-only extravaganzas featuring dancing, music, street food, facepainting, street performers and animal talks.
LeithLate: 12-30 June, Various venues and times
LeithLate has expanded its format for 2015 with a programme of events running over a four month period. The festival includes a whole host of arts events taking place across the Leith area. There is roughly one event taking place each month, alongside new public artworks around Leith as part of The Shutter Project on Great Junction Street and The Mural Project with Kirsty Whiten.
