Anthea Hamilton and Nicholas Byrne: Love: 4-15 April, Govanhalls Baths, 11am-6pm

Suspended and free-standing inflatable sculptures fill Govanhill Baths, in a re-imagining of a work originally seen in Poplar Baths in London during the 2012 Olympics.

Art Screen--Our Glasgow: 12 April, Glasgow Film Theatre, 5.15pm

Frieze video on Glasgow featuring archival footage, artists’ films, recently shot scenes around the city and interviews with local artists.

The Celts in Seville: 2-12 April, Pavillion Theatre, 7.30pm

The story of a typical Celtic family as their heroes go all the way to the UEFA Cup final in Seville, written by award winning playwright Tony Roper.

Beatriz Santiago Munoz Artist Talk:  9 April, CCA, 6pm

Beatriz Santiago Muñoz discusses her career and works, including her 2014 Glasgow International contribution, Post-Military Cinema, on currently at Transmission.

Artists Moving Image at the BBC: 11 April, CCA, 3.30pm

Three panelists (Torsten Lauschmann, Kathryn Elkin and Stephen Sutcliffe) discuss their experiences of the BBC Arts and LUX residency where they have unprecedented access to the BBC archives.

Architecture and Literature: 15 April, CCA, 7pm

Scottish Writers’ Centre and Glasgow School of Art present the final results of a project to design a new 'literary institute' building for Glasgow, including the responsive short stories of Magi Gibson, Donal McLaughlin, Douglas Thompson and Brian Whittingham, who read their works tonight.

BBC Scotland Presents the Best of Red Raw: 1 April, The Stand, 9.30pm

If you fancy catching the stars of tomorrow today, then you'll be aware of The Stand's weekly beginner's showcase for those wannabe funny people tentatively treading the comedy boards. Now's your chance to see the best of the newbies, and, since it's the festival and all, there may be an appearance or two from better-known faces.

The Colour Ham: 5 April, Queen Margaret Union, 8pm

Magical comedy sketch group comprising Colin McLeod, Gavin Oattes and Kevin McMahon, making good use of absurdity, magic and mentalism. Member Gavin Oattes allegedly once licked Paul Daniels' face, so anything could happen, really.

Christy Moore and Declan Sinnott: 13 April, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, 8pm

Moore is one of Ireland's leading solo artists, Moore mixes traditional song with contemporary social and political commentary. Here he is joined by musician and producer Sinnott to promote new album Folk Tale.

Fred Morrison: 15 April, CCA, 8pm

Scottish piper Fred Morrison has carved himself an international reputation with his powerfully exuberant, highly improvisational style.

Aye Write! Glasgow's Book Festival: 4-12 April, Mitchell Library

Located in the iconic Mitchell Library it remains committed to celebrating Scottish and international writers and writing. Glasgow's Book Festival is back for its ninth outing in 2014, incorporating some of the year's major events into its programming, including the Commonwealth Games and the 200th anniversary of Sir Walter Scott's Waverley.

Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art: Beginning 4 April, Various Venues

Two-yearly festival of contemporary art commissioned from artists around the globe and including exhibitions in traditional gallery spaces, plus unique site-specific installations and live performance art. The 2012 festival featured acclaimed shows by Wolfgang Tillmans, Jeremy Deller and Ruth Ewan, and the 2014 festival is under new director Sarah McCrory.
