Building a Legacy: The Athletes' Village: Throughout the End of May, The Lighthouse
A showcase for one of the most lasting legacies of the 2014 Commonwealth Games: the Athletes' Village, built in the East End of the city and featuring 700 sustainable eco-homes and a 120-bed care home.
Burrell's Ming Masterpieces and their Provenance: 21 May, The Burrell Collection, 2pm
A special object viewing session of the rarely displayed collection of imperial Ming porcelain, with the opportunity to handle the objects. (Don't get any wise ideas, ya hear? We can't all be Ai Weiwei.) Booking is essential.
Hugh Hood: Glasgow 1974: Throughout the End of May, Eastwood Park Theatre
Veteran photographer Hugh Hood's gritty, unsentimental images of Glasgow in 1974 document a time when the city was undergoing a radical programme of demolition and redevelopment. The negatives were long thought lost, but they resurfaced in 2006 in Hood's brother's house.
Khaled Hourani: 16-18 May, CCA
The first retrospective of work by Palestinian artist, curator and art critic Khaled Hourani, who as founder and director of the International Academy of Art Palestine initiated and oversaw the Picasso in Palestine project, whereby Picasso's 1943 Buste de femme was successfully shipped from its home in Eindhoven and displayed for three weeks in a gallery in Ramallah, within the Palestinian territory.
