A Scottish Palette: A Selection of Works by Scottish Artists: Beginning 18 January, MUSA

An opportunity to compare rarely seen works from the Royal Scottish Academy with works by the same artists from the University’s own collection. Meet the colorful characters behind the artworks and unravel each artist’s story. Explore the many ways that they have contributed to Scottish art.

Exhibition about the roots of graduating at the University of St Andrews.

Re:New--Contemporary Art from the Permanent Collection: Throughout the End of January, McManus: Dundee's Art Gallery and Museum

Contemporary work from Scottish and European artists, divided into a section offering different views of Dundee and another section featuring work inspired by the natural world. Featured artists include Catherine Yass, Ruth Ewan, Graham Fagen, John Stezaker and many more.

Bolshoi Ballet Live: Jewels: 19 January, Dundee Contemporary Arts, 3pm

Inspired by the famous jewelers of New York's Fifth Avenue, this triptych is a tribute to women, and to the cities of Paris, New York and St Petersburg.

Music, Comedy and Dance

Recital of Mozart and Gilbert & Sullivan: 17 January, Holy Trinity Church, 7pm

Sung by soprano Caroline Taylor, accompanied by Walter Blair. Includes arias from Don Giovanni, Exultate Jubilate, HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, etc; Holy Trinity Church, South Street.

Fife Festival of Music: Beginning 27 January, Various venues and dates

Performers at this community festival range from primary school children to adults, in both vocal and instrumental classes, competitive and non-competitive. Performances are open to anyone to come along and watch.
