Recording Scotland: World War II Through Artists' Eyes: Throughout January, Gateway Galleries
Explore a collection of drawings and paintings created during the war as part of a documentary project called Recording Scotland – find out more about the impact of the Second World War on the lives and careers of artists

Out of the Box: Magical Masks: 10 January, MUSA, 1-3pm
Drop in to find out how Korean people used masks to tell stories and drive away evil spirits, then design your own funny or scary mask to take home.

Volunteer Research Group Exhibition: 30 January, Preservation Trust Museum
Recent work on local topics including: Four generations of Janettas in St Andrews, Horses & Other Animals of Yesteryear, Full Circle: The Story of Guardbridge Mill, Witchcraft & the Witches of St Andrews, The History of Mount Melville & Dr John Hardie Wilson (Botanist)

 

Music, Comedy and Dance

Les Pecheurs des Perles: 16 Saturday, Byre Theatre, 5:55pm
Bizet’s opera in a live screening from the New York Metropolitan Opera.

A Night at the Musicals: 29 January, Byre Theatre, 7:30pm
Musical favourites including songs from Wicked, Les Miserables, Grease etc, by a first class professional cast.

Fife Food Festival: 31 January, Younger Hall, 11am
An annual charity food show in the heart of St Andrews, inviting all food lovers to experience the best of Scottish produce. Along with hot and cold food stalls, we have cooking demonstrations, a raffle and activities suitable for the whole family. Our special guest this year is The Great British Bake Off 2013 Winner, Frances Quinn, who will be giving a talk on her book Quinntessential Baking. All profits from this event will be going to our two chosen charities FareShare and Mary's Meals
