If you happen to be in Gràcia this weekend, you'll have the chance to see the Foguerons de Sa Pobla.

Foguerons de Sa Pobla is a traditional festivity that is celebrated every year in the small town of Sa Pobla. This town is located on the island of Majorca, the largest Balearic island. Together with other cultlural and symbolic events, the celebration consists on lighting bonfires on the street, playing and singing folkloric songs, reciting poetry, eating on the street, and so on so forth for the feast day of Saint Anthony. Gràcia adopted this celebration 25 years ago and it's become a tradition that takes you a bit closer to the beautiful Balearic islands. This way, Gràcia brings the popular culture closer. 

And speaking of Gràcia, our first co-curricular activity this semester was our Gràcia Tour! We walked around Vila de Gràcia streets to see some of the most famous squares and ended up having an ice-cream in one of its famous gelateries. It's such a unique neighborhood and the ice-cream was delicious despite the cold! 

If you live there or you decide going there this weekend, you'll have the chance to attend shows and watch a parade apart from seeing the bonfires, folkloric music, food and traditional dances. In brief, you'll have the chance to experience a Majorcan tradition but still being in Barcelona!
