The deadline for fall programs in New Zealand is quickly approaching (March 15 for all four), and we can't stop thinking about meat pies and pavlova. If your knowledge of New Zealand is limited to "Lord of the Rings" or Kiwi Fruit, we have so much more to share with you!

- The Maori culture is an integral part of New Zealand's identity, with traditional arts, crafts, and performances still preserved and celebrated today.
- The country is home to unique wildlife, including the iconic kiwi bird, as well as the endangered yellow-eyed penguin and Hector's dolphin.
- New Zealand is famous for its wine production, particularly Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region, which has gained international acclaim.
- The Lord of the Rings film trilogy was filmed in various locations throughout New Zealand, showcasing the country's stunning landscapes to a global audience.

Among all the other reasons to study in New Zealand spending time in the Southern Hemisphere means the fall semester typically starts in July and students will be home by Thanksgiving. This works well for students on the traditional semester calendar as well as those dealing with the quarter system.
