Hey, I’m Amellia! I am a first year student at Arcadia University in Pennsylvania studying Biology and Neuroscience on the Pre-Medicine Track. Through FYSAE, I am spending my second semester of college abroad in London, England. I have never left the country before so flying the near 5,000 miles from my home town of Bend, Oregon here was definitely an experience in itself. But, I am excited for the change and growth that happens in a new city and I figure traveling before my medical career really gets started is the best way to ensure it really happens. In this blog, you’ll see a way of balance between completing coursework to a certain standard while also absorbing and acting on the numerous expectations indirectly put on you while you are abroad.
