Hey, I’m Michael! I’m about to graduate from Santa Clara University with degrees in music and biology, but I’m squeezing in one final quarter and I am spending it at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. I’ve hardly ever left California, so needless to say spending 5 months in the South Pacific will be quite a change. But I packed my guitar, left the world I know behind, and am approaching this adventure with an open mind, an empty stomach, and just enough cash to get me through. On my blog, you’ll read all about my successes and failures, opportunities for growth and subsequent growing pains, moments of clarity and moments of stupidity, and likely the numerous times I’ll get lost. But in all instances, you will find (attempted) humor, a somewhat naïve sense of wonder, and a dash of the philosophical. It’s going to be a wild ride, and I hope you’ll join me.
