“Cuddle a Koala” was arguably the most important item on my Aussie bucket list.

Luckily for me, koalas and emus, wombats and Tasmanian devils, wallabies AND kangaroos can all be found in one magical place, only a short bus ride from Brisbane CBD. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the first and largest koala sanctuary in the world. The sanctuary contains all manner of creatures, including lizards, platypuses, and tropical birds.

I had such a great time with all of my friends that I’ve made here so far. We cuddled koalas and hand-fed kangaroos, and got a taste of natural Aussie flora and fauna.

This was one of the first times that it really hit me that I was in Australia. Being able to be so up-close to the kangaroos was an awesome experience!
