Hello! It is November! It’s getting towards the end of term and assignments are piling up. However, in the midst of all this, I’m happy because in retrospect I have enjoyed my time in Scotland, both, academically and socially. I have decided to not shave my mustache and beard this month in support of the no shave November movement supporting men’s health. I also started the month by celebrating Guy Fawkes.  For those who are unfamiliar with this, well, rather unique custom in the UK, it stems back to 1605 when Guy Fawkes failed in his and other Catholic sympathizers’ attempt to blow up both King James I and the Parliament. So the annual bonfire night celebrates Guy Fawkes’ arrest by burning effigies of him, and serves as a reminder that treason would never be forgiven or forgotten. Nice excuse to have a firecracker of a party, isn’t it?

On the downside, It seems that people in Scotland do not celebrate Thanksgiving like in the US. I guess I will not be having any turkey this month. I could also use Thanksgiving perks like Black-Friday and Cyber-Monday deals since I’m looking forward to buying a camera.

From this week, I aim to get more dancing skills and unwind from school stress. So I will start going to the Swing, latin, and African dancing events more often. I’ll be giving updates on how this is going in my future posts. Ok, take care, until next time!
