As Senior Director of Planning & Organizational Effectiveness, David is provides strategic leadership for Arcadia Abroad and is responsible for holding the organization accountable to its mission and plans by developing and ensuring a consistency of strategy and approach.
David is responsible for the development and implementation of a college wide assessment plan and oversees all aspects of program review and learning assessment. He is involved in strategy and planning as the College takes on new projects and program development.
David graduated cum laude from Susquehanna University with a degree in political science and research methodology, studied at Regent’s College in London, did master's-level study at the University of Pittsburgh, and is completing his PhD in Educational Psychology at Temple University. David's primary research interests involve assessing the relationships between teaching, learning and co-curricular reflection with particular reference to the cross-cultural experiences, and the ways in which the nomenclature within the field addresses these myriad varieties of learning.
Toward this end, he has served on numerous committees with the Forum for International Education, including the Data Committee and the Glossary Project Subcommittee concerned with producing a glossary of universally employed international educational terms. He has delivered more than 20 presentations in conferences and workshops. He has chaired numerous campus-wide committees including both a campus-wide standards committee, as well as the committee on campus internationalization. He presides on the institution-wide Academic Improvement Unit, charged with program review and learning assessment throughout the University. He has taught the Global Connections Reflections course at Arcadia University and supervised the implementation of the innovative Co-Curricular Learning Certificate. This is a significant benchmark for addressing the academic and experiential symbiosis which produces lifelong global leadership capabilities in study abroad participants. He has also led the implementation of the Blackboard online course management system in a educational abroad context. Throughout his career he has also served on external program review committees, both domestic and international.
David has been active in supporting various innovative program review models. This work includes David being a key contributor to The College of Global Studies' report for the Middle States Commission as part of Arcadia University's larger accreditation review.
