Karen’s work history has flicked continually between supporting students, and working in film/design. She has previously worked for IFSA Butler and Victoria University, but also worked with students in the classroom teaching design as a college lecturer and high school teacher. In the middle of all that, Karen worked in the film Industry for 10 years, working on films like The Hobbit. In 2017, she finished a Bachelor of Architecture, and most recently has been designing Tiny Houses.

Karen has a love of the USA. She studied abroad at Washington State, and just prior to COVID, she travelled in an Airstream through many states, wrote a book about it, and then built out a van to her liking and travelled some more.
