Maria’s introduction to international education started in 2008, when as a child her family relocated from the Philippines to a small Australian town in NSW town called Armidale. Soon after, her family moved again to Wollongong on the south coast of NSW where she completed her high school education. Maria then successfully attained a Bachelor of International Studies at the University of Wollongong.

While studying at Wollongong, Maria enjoyed a study abroad experience at the University of Leon in Spain. She was fortunate enough to live and continue her studies in Spain, despite the pandemic in 2020, where she was not able to return to Australia due to border issues. Maria successfully completed her degree (a good proportion of it online whilst in Spain), where she worked as an English tutor and studied the Spanish language herself. Maria is also fluent in her native Cebuano and Tagalog language of the Philippines.

Over the years, Maria has been fortunate to travel throughout Europe and Asia, immersing herself in their rich histories while broadening her knowledge and experiences to attain a more worldly, educated and open-minded perspective.
