Since 2017 I have been a Senior Lecturer in Media and History at the London Center. My research interests include the legacies of British imperialism; the sea in popular culture; surrealism; the history of London; Marxism; and the history of radio. In both my writing and teaching I am driven by a desire to put the past into dialogue with the present; to study the British Empire, for me, is also to confront contemporary Western imperialist policy.
