Arcadia Orientation in Australia takes place in the greater area of Sydney. After the conclusion of orientation, students studying in destinations (apart from Sydney and Wollongong) will need to travel to their host location (please check your program calendar to confirm your destination and date of travel). To help support students with travel to their final destination, the Arcadia Australia staff recommends students travel on specific flights or at specific times to help ensure arrangements are in place to support students’ arrival. Recommended flights can be found on the Travel Information tab in the Arcadia Portal.
- Arcadia staff will transfer you from orientation to the airport for designated flights and assist with check-in. Whenever possible staff will also travel with students on the designated flights.
- Transportation to and from the airport will be provided to any students traveling on the designated flights or departing/arriving at approximately the same time.
- Any students traveling at a time not near the below recommendations may be responsible for making their own way to and from the airport and any associated costs.
- Late arrival at your program location may also impact a student’s ability to check into housing and be supported by the host university or Arcadia Australia staff.
- Students are encouraged to book all their airfare as one booking for ease of travel and the potential of avoiding/limiting additional baggage fees on internal flights. Baggage restrictions for both checked and carry-on bags on domestic flights within Australia may differ from international flights. When booking, if the same baggage allowance is not provided for all of your flights (both international and domestic), students are encouraged to consider paying the additional baggage fees in advance of their travel.
Please contact your Program Advisor for any questions regarding your program travel and expectations of travel times and routes.
