Located in the creative capital of the world, The University of the Arts London offers a wide array of courses in art, fashion, design, and communication related fields. Ranked number one in the world for fashion studies and number two for art and design, studying at UAL will grow your connections within creative industries.

Outside of class, you will be able to explore world renowned museums and cultural venues. Through UAL, students may have the opportunity to participate in some of London’s most prominent events, including London Fashion Week, Frieze Art Fair, LIFT Theatre Festival, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London Design Week, and more.

Study abroad students can choose from two program structures, integrated and semester study abroad programs. In the integrated version of the program, students will study alongside UAL’s full degree students. The semester structure allows study abroad students to study with other peers from overseas. Arcadia partners with all six UAL colleges: Central Saint Martins (CSM), London College of Communication (LCC), London College of Fashion (LCF), Camberwell College of Arts, Chelsea College of Arts, and Wimbledon College of Arts.

 

Central Saint Martins:

With art and design at its center, Central Saint Martins aims to prepare students to take on pressing global issues through their creative energy and talent, such as creating equitable communities and addressing declining biodiversity. The college believes in the power of relationships with both local and global communities in order to create dynamic and innovation change. Located at Kings Cross, many artists who have transformed generations began their creative careers here. Central Saint Martins encourages taking risks and independence throughout their coursework.

Outside of the boutiques and modern restaurants that are characteristic of Kings Cross, students can spend their time exploring the college’s museum collection. The museum houses the history and archives of the college, including materials ranging from 13th century publications to the degree show collections from the past two decades.

 

London College of Communication:

The London College of Communication specializes in design, media, and screen studies. Located at Elephant and Castle, LCC coursework encourages students to transform the world around them through critical, technical, and creative excellence. A Learning by doing approach, Industry led courses, and partnerships are a hallmark of LCC. Students will strengthen their creative abilities by learning about the heritage of creative communications and by looking to the future of technologies in these fields.

Students can choose from an array of courses at the Design, Media, and Screen Schools.

 

London College of Fashion:

An innovative leader in fashion education for over 100 years, the College of Fashion works closely with industry partners in order to offer students extensive experience in the fashion industry. Each course has a fashion industry component that prepares students for the myriad of career opportunities available. The college offers courses over all aspects of the fashion industry, from business to fashion curation. Through their commitments to the ideals of social responsibility, sustainability, diversity, and conscientious learning, courses encourage students to critically think about political and social agendas. With campuses located across London, students will be able to experience the breadth of opportunities that the city offers. Through this program, students will get to experience a five day excursion to Paris. The College of Fashion program is only available to students in the Semester Study Abroad structure.

 

Camberwell College of Arts

Renowned college for fine art and design. Subjects include Sculpture, Photography, Drawing, Illustration, Painting, Graphic Design, Interior and Spatial Design, Computational Arts.

 

Chelsea College of Arts:

This college looks at art and design in a social, cultural and political context. Subjects include: Fine Art, Graphic Design Communication, Interior Design, Product and Furniture Design, Textile Design.

 

Wimbledon College of Arts:

Provides world class teaching in technical arts for theater, film and television. Subjects include: Acting and Performance, Contemporary Theater Performance Costume for Theater and Screen, Creative Technical Theater, Production Arts for Screen, Technical Arts for Theater and Performance, Theater Design.
