Choosing Your Courses

UAL offers two types of study abroad programs across its colleges:

  • Study Abroad Semester: This program is a good fit both for students majoring in art, design, and fashion or for liberal arts students who are looking to gain some experience in these fields. This program is exclusively for study abroad students who can choose one of three tracks:

London College of Fashion

    • Fashion Business Semester
    • Fashion Media and Communication Semester
    • Fashion Product Design Semester

London College of Communication

    • Media and Communication

Central St. Martins

    • Advanced Fashion Design

Find out more information about theses programs here.

  • Integrated Study Abroad Program: This program is for students majoring or minoring in art, design, fashion, communications, or performance. Applicants would need a strong background in their chosen area.  On the Integrated program, you will study alongside degree-seeking UAL students and will work both independently and collaboratively, following a set curriculum of study. Find out more information about this program here.

You will enroll in 12-18 credits per semester at University of the Arts. Please see the Integrated and Study Abroad Semester pages for more information.

  • Please review your courses with your academic or study abroad advisor to ensure they will transfer back to your home school and that you are following your home school’s policies.
  • Please be flexible – we can’t guarantee specific courses. If your participation in the program depends on a particular course, be sure to make a note on your online preferences form.
  • When completing your Academic Preferences Form, please review all course information for the program carefully.

Enrollment Process

Arcadia will submit your courses to the UAL college of your choice when we have your completed application, including your Academic Preferences Form. The Academic Preferences Form you submit to Arcadia prior to acceptance is not set in stone.

UAL will share with us your provisional course allocations, all which are subject to change upon arrival, as their timetables are not shared in advance.

You will have a drop/add period at the beginning of the semester where you can make changes to your course registration.

If your enrollment is conditional upon entry into a specific course or courses, it is very important that you indicate these requirements at the bottom of the academic preferences form on your Arcadia Portal.

Grade Scale

Grades will be reported exactly as they appear on the UAL transcript.
