Norway, often referred to as the "Land of the Midnight Sun" is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and its commitment to environmental sustainability and green living. Norway leads the way in promoting sustainable practices and preserving its pristine natural environment all while building social policies with a strong emphasis on education and innovation. With all of Norway’s green sustainability practices and social systems, comes the contradictory nature of spearheading the green revolution and while also relying heavily on income from the oil industry. This program examines the complexities of social systems in the wake of Norway’s successes and contradictions.
The foundations of the program looks at important issues of today through the Norwegian lens. Courses focus on environmental sustainability, climate crisis, economic and gender equality, and more.
Courses bring a diversity of perspective both in and out of the classroom, so prepare for learning about the things impacting society today while you are living in it.
Students will complete three courses as a cohort, and will get to choose one elective course from Østfold University College in Fredrikstad, which offers courses taught in English to help you integrate with local students.
Most necessities, including a brand-new mall, are within walking distance, including housing just a 5-minute walk from the campus.
