Decolonizing the Mind Courses

Students take four courses, worth 4 credits each, on this program. The program is based around a required core course, Racism and Resistance in Southern Africa and the U.S., an academic foundation to compare and contrast the legacies of colonialism, apartheid, racism, and reflection on where students can make a impact in the global fight for social justice. In addition, you will select three elective courses from the offerings below as well as an optional 1-credit Yoga module.

You have the option to participate in a for-credit internship as one of your electives, where you are paired with a local organization based on your professional and personal needs. You may also choose to conduct an independent research project to further investigate a topic in one of the humanities or social sciences disciplines outlined below.

  • Please review your courses with your academic or study abroad advisor to ensure they will transfer back to your home school and that you are following your home school’s policies.
