Housing

Ilam Apartments is located just a short walk from campus, and offers student apartments in a community setting. The proximity to campus allows for easy access to classes and "the Foundry," which is the main student social hub on campus. Additionally, Ilam Apartments is also just a short walk to Bush Inn, where you will find a large supermarket, bank, shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Ilam Apartments offers three different sets of apartments: Mānuka; Kōwhai and Hīnau. Arcadia students are usually placed in Hīnau apartments which are fully furnished, with 3-5 single bedrooms, 1 or 2 shared bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. All Ilam Apartments are self-catered so you will be responsible for sourcing and/or cooking your own meals.  Arcadia students are housed, whenever possible, with a mixture of New Zealand students and other internationals. Ilam organizes several social events throughout the semester, and the main large common room is a popular location for students to gather for BBQs, pot luck dinners, a game of pool, cooking and craft classes, with a big screen for cheering on the All Blacks.

Except in very rare circumstances, we are not able to accommodate any roommate requests in New Zealand.

Prices provided on the Ilam Apartment website may vary from the Arcadia housing fees, depending on the current exchange rate, the number of weeks students are housed in NZ, and additional charges for items included such as linen packs, crockery, and cutlery.
